Melotte 15 - The Heart of the Heart Nebula
From NASA: Cosmic clouds form fantastic shapes in the central regions of emission nebula IC 1805. The clouds are sculpted by stellar winds and radiation from massive hot stars in the nebula's newborn star cluster, Melotte 15. About 1.5 million years young, the cluster stars are scattered in this colorful skyscape, along with dark dust clouds in silhouette against glowing atomic gas.
The Heart Nebula. IC 1805 is located about 7,500 light years away toward the boastful constellation Cassiopeia.
Imagers Notes: This is probably my favorite image that I have taken to date. There are 2 versions here. I was intending to move a bit towards the more gold and blue of the Hubble (SHO) Palette, but I liked the magenta hues so much I left it. Somewhat in between the HSO and SHO palettes in processing before some of the color is modified. There’s a high chance I will create another version of this one as well when I add more data in the future.
