NGC 2359 - Thor’s Helmet

NGC 2359, known as Thor's Helmet, is an emission nebula in Canis Major, approximately 11,960 light-years from Earth. Its distinctive shape is caused by the winds of the central Wolf-Rayet star WR7 interacting with the surrounding interstellar dust and gas.
