NGC 5128 - Centaurus A
Another TelescopeLive image with my spare credits. This is Centaurus A (NGC 5128) located in the Centaurus constellation ~12M light years from Earth. It's shape is the result of a collision between an elliptical and spiral galaxy millions of years ago resulting in a supermassive black hole at it's core and an example of an Active Galactic Nucleus.
It is not visible from the Northern Hemisphere and these images were captured from an observatory in Chile. Processing by me.
